I work full time at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne, WY as a Psychiatric Assessment and Referral Team member. I conduct risk assessments with individuals who are experiencing mental health crises requiring immediate interventions. Due to the 12-hour shift structure of the hospital, I am able to work part time in private practice, offering individual therapy and other types of assessments.
I believe in healing through therapeutic relationship. Establishing trust creates a safe container in which to experience change. I identify as an able-bodied, white woman and I continue to work on my education and awareness of how my privilege in these identities impacts others. I am abortion affirming, gender affirming and trauma informed.
My graduate work was at Naropa University, where I deeply connected with the Buddhist roots of my education. I welcome people from all religions and backgrounds, and often incorporate mindfulness practices into sessions. Present-moment awareness is paramount to increasing your window of tolerance to aid in healing and change.
I am originally from the east coast and after a bit of wandering landed among the Rocky Mountains. While my upbringing was pretty traditional, I was raised to discover my own spiritual beliefs. I found that traveling and meeting people was one phase of that seeking. Now my internal journeys are where I find a quieter knowing. At home I am dedicated to my yoga and meditation practices as they continue to show me who I am and help me stay grounded in change. These practices are the foundation of my work with clients, allowing me to sit with and hold space for others.
I am a volunteer Ski Patroller at Snowy Range Ski Area and an avid skier in the winter. In the summer months I enjoy working in my garden, rock climbIing, camping and backpacking, fly fishing, and seeking out pools of water to cool off in!
